Am I the only one who thinks it would be super fun to rp this?
Well, even if I am, I won't know unless I try.
So here it is.
SCHOOL
History
This particular school is called The Main School. This is partially because it is the main school for the state and partially because 'Oppenheimer School' sounded funny and that's all I could think of. ANYWAYS. This school is 113 years old as of this year. This school teaches preschool all the way through 12th grade.
'Territory'
I only said territory because it is traditional guide/sign ups speak. Anyways, this school is, as you might have guessed, very large. For those of you who go to Jackson, it is altogether about 3.5 times the size of Jackson. So yeah. It's pretty huge. There are three levels, each one about the size of Jackson (except the first level, which is a bit bigger). The first level is where grades preschool through 5th grade go, second level is 6th through 8th, and 3rd is 9th through 12th. When you first enter the school, there is a foyer type area. There is a large archway that leads to the main education center. In this foyer, there is the main office. There is also an elevator, so people going to higher floor don't have to walk up a ton of stairs. In the main level, each grade has two different teachers(except preschool, which has 1) , plus a music teacher, and art teacher, and a PE teacher. Every other teacher teaches all subjects and may have no more than one student teacher and one TA (who must be in at least 6th grade). On the second level, there are two home room teachers (history and english) for each grade, two science teachers, and two math teachers. In addition to this, there is an art teacher, a music teacher, and a PE teacher. There are no advanced classes (though there is TAG) and each teacher may have no more than one student teacher and one TA (who must be in at least 9th grade). On the third level, there are the same number of teachers for each subject as on level 2. There are still no advanced classes and each teacher may have no more than one student teacher and one TA (who must be at least one year older than the class they are TAing for- 12th grade classes do not have TAs). There is a large auditorium on the main floor and a cafeteria for each floor. Preschoolers eat in class, kindergarten, 1st grade, 2nd grade, and 3rd grade eat first then have recess, 4th and 5th grade vise versa, 6th and 7th grade, first, 8th, second, 9th and 10th first, 11th and 12th second. There is also a HUGE library on the main floor. Outside, there is a playground complete with slides, swings, tire swings, bridges, jungle gyms, monkey bars, and a bunch of other fun (but safe) things. There is also a basketball court, a field, and a track. The whole things is surrounded by a strong wooden fence. Each year, the 12th graders get to paint one picket of the fence. If they run out of pickets (which, despite the large size of the fence, they have) they will remove the older pickets (which will then be mailed to their painters) and replace them with the new.
Rules
OOC rules are the same as usual, and IC are the same as normal schools. There are no uniforms, but there is a dress code- nothing too revealing (you will be sent to the principal's office if you're outfit is unacceptable). Phones may be used at recess, but the school's wifi only works on websites they have deemed appropriate. Students may petition to allow certain things (such as other websites) and these things will be considered. There will occasionally be field trips.
Schedules
Each student has a schedule. Some are different. Some are the same. You may choose two electives (music, PE, art, TA) for your student. Elementary students do not get to choose electives, they only get teachers. MS and HS students have 7 period schedules. 1st period can be anything, 2nd period can be math, science, or homeroom, 3rd period can be anything, 4th period is lunch, 5th period can be electives, math, or science, 6th period can be math, science, or homeroom, and 7th period can be math, science, or homeroom. Homeroom is two consecutive periods. It can NOT be 3rd, then lunch, then homeroom again, they must be right after each other. Students can only choose TWO ELECTIVES and they must be different. MS and HS may have band or choir as their music elective. For band, you must choose beginning (even if they have played before the class, they must take this class before going to concert band) or concert. Beginning band is 1st and 2nd period, concert is 3rd. 6th graders can't choose electives, so they don't have to like or be good at what you choose for their elective.
