the goofy new apprentice darted onto the scene, a wide grin across her maw. she had a detective hat placed upon her head, and a magnifying glass clamped in her jaws. guesspaw was ready to get to the bottom of her imaginary case. |

"Guesspaw, Guesspaw, Guesspaw!" said Sunnypaw as she came running up. "What mystery are we going to solve today?!" she said, giving a certain emphasis on the we.

the fem perked her ears and narrowed bright green eyes at sunnypaw. she noticed the we, but decided to let it slide. dropping her face of concentration, she smiled. "i'm investigating a murder case. i'm looking for clues,"

Sunnypaw smiled. She could work with clues. "I'm pretty good with the whole clues part." Then she turned her head in fake sadness and said, "Of course, only if you want me to help."

she grinned. "nah, you can be my watson, how about that?" she said, tilting her head, before getting back to work.

she sighed and shook her head. amatures. plowing on liek she hadn't heard, she turned to her side-kick. "so, where do you suppose we start looking for clues?"

she arrived at the forest, grinning. she spotted a leaf, glanced both ways, and sliced it in half. she let out a loud gasp. "look!! this leaf has claw marks all over it! the murderer must be in here. or at least some good leads. good idea!" if you hadn't guess already, she was making this up as she was going.

Heatherbreeze had heard the young apprentices discussing, and decided to- take part- in this 'investigation.' She hid in the shadows, downwind of the apprentices, silently moving along. She saw a small stream and walked through it, muddying her fur a bit to help disguise her scent. She then noticed a mouse out of the corner of her eye and had an idea. She quickly and silently caught it, then rushed ahead of the apprentices, still unable to be scented, and dripped some of the prey's blood on a large leaf that she assumed the apprentices would pass on their way. Another clue for their murder mystery.

As Sunnypaw wandered a bit farther ahead of Guesspaw, she noticed something. "Guesspaw!! You'll want to see this!!"
