"So..." Dylan mumbled awkwardly.

Sarah sat up straight. "My house is just down there," she said shakily, gesturing down a long driveway to a large house.

Dylan's eyes widened and he started the car again. He shook his head with a tiny smile as he pulled down the long driveway. He hated big houses. He always got lost in them. And it was like rich people wanted the world to know that they can afford anything so they buy this huge house that could literally fit 200 residents and then like, two people live in it. He hated big houses. So. Much.

Sarah sighed as they neared her house. Too many bad memories came from here. She shuddered and then willed herself to get over it.

Sarah looked to Cleo and Dylan and smiled slightly.

He finally reached the end of the driveway and parked the car (for the second time in the past few minutes (actually, by the time he made it to the actual house, it might have been hours. Days, even. (Another thing Dylan hated: long driveways. Why did people feel the need to drive an extra mile to get to their house?))). He looked to Sarah as if asking her if it would be alright to exit the car and approach her house.

Sarah nodded in return and leaped gracefully out of the car, but you could tell that she was tense, nervous to return to her home.

Cleo looked at the huge house in front of her, not really having an opinion about it, though she also hated long driveways. She slowly, still looking at the house, got out of the car to join Sarah.

Sarah looked to Dylan and pulled her key out of her pocket. She typed a code into a panel on the wall, deactivating a trap and waited for Dylan to come.

Dylan raised his eyebrows. Traps? Okay... He jumped out of the car and came towards the house cautiously.

Sarah walked towards the front door and unlocked the door with a click. She opened the door wide and stepped into her house. She gestured to the side. "A celestial bronze cannon can come out of the floor right there and can shoot out the window," she said, remembering the countless times her home had been under atrack from monsters.

Dylan's jaw dropped. He didn't really see the reason he needed to know that, and normally he would think it was ridiculous that they had such expensive security, but a cannon? Awesome! "How does that work exactly?" he asked, his eyes sparkling.

"My dad got it for my protection," she commented, walking over. She knelt and lifted the floorboard, pulling out a device. "The code is 4610," she said to Dylan (4+6=10 btw) as she typed it in. A floorboard clicked and moved underneath the others, and a bronze cannon spiraled out of the floor. Sarah gestured to Dylan. "Just pull the lever and a celestial bronze cannonball shoots out," she said. "It automatically reloads. My dad was an engineer. He liked inventing this sort if thing."

He stared at it. Totally stupid and wasteful as it was, it was pretty cool. He didn't see why Sarah felt she needed to brag about it at that very moment, but whatever.
