She learned to fire an arrow from her uncle, her father's brother.. His friend was in the Games, and lost due to a misplaced arrow. Her uncle taught her to be on target. When she was eight, her mother died due to an unknown disease. Eight years later, she was selected to be in the Games. No one who would volunteer for her could, and vice versa. She survived by hiding in trees, treating her burns with remedies taught to her by her mother, and getting supplies from her fans. A deadly shot killed the last person left. When she returned, she learned her dad and uncle had died.
