I looked down at the island from my place among the stars. From here, it was just a speck of land surrounded by rolling masses of land and churning oceans. I go closer, and I can see splashes of indigo and green in the blue sea. Our island is now a white, grey and and green mountain range with a yellow, tan and off-white beach. I go not to the mountains but to the beach, from where I can easily walk to the forest with a thousand shades of green. As I go swiftly through the forest, I see bright flowers, curious wildlife and humble markings of life. I smirk when I find the well-hidden camp in a matter of seconds. First a wall of stone with a large entry-gate, then I see the outer ring of huts and houses. These are also made of stone, with one or two visible stories on each. A bit farther inward, we see the barracks and training camps, the hospitals and emergency cots, the schoolhouses and the ring of small churches. At the center, there is a ring of twelve plaques, each about two feet in diameter. Each depicts one of the Ancient Powers. The leader's house sits in the center. And nearby, I can see the place where our champion, my champion, will come. The unbelievers will be sorry, very, very sorry.
The young teacher sat up, nervous. Even though Carlos was a very bright person and the youngest teacher the Zodiac had, what would the kids think of him? He sighed as he combed his dark, unruly hair into a somewhat neat style. His green eyes looked around the room, and anyone who could see him would see that his eyes were the color of acid. That reminded him. He would prepare his lesson for the day.
