A young girl sat near the edge of the empty benches surrounding the campfire. No one knew she was there; people rarely knew she was there. She just seemed to go unnoticed wherever she went. She didn't mind. She knew she wasn't important, that there were others who had thing to do and prophecies to fulfill. She couldn't do much, but she didn't mind. She was happy at the camp. She would've been fine on her own, but she was more than happy to join this community full of people like her. Her wavy brown hair swirled slightly as a gentle breeze swirled by, but the fire before her didn't even waver. Its flames were bright and bold. She smiled into the fire, its light casting shadows across her face.

Cleo (I'm pretending she's there) came and sat down next to the girl. She looked at her as the shadows of the fire danced on her already lit up face, her eyes reflecting flame with golden rays. "Hey." Cleo said smiling.
(REALLY like what's in bold)

She smiled and looked over to Cleo for a very brief moment before returning her eyes to the fire. "Hello," she murmured as the flames jumped a little higher. She seemed please at this, for her eyes shined a little brighter. The fire died down a little bit as she looked back to the girl. Her eyes glowed a warm golden, flecked with red and orange, similar to the colors of the fire. "Cleo, daughter of Hades, right?" she asked.

Cleo smiled. "Yep. Hopefully I'm nothing like him though." she said, giving a sort of awkward, half-hearted laugh.

The little girl gave a warm smile. "I'm sure he's nicer than he's given credit for," she murmured.

he was the new kid in town, and he wasn't sure how much he liked the feeling. wearing a frown, the teen hesitantly slid over. he picked up a bit of their conversation as he arrived, something about the daughter of hades and him being nicer than he seemed. jared didn't know, and decided that it would be easier if he pretended he didn't hear it. "uh, hey. what're you up to?" he asked, slightly awkward.

The girl looked over at him with a tiny smile. "Jared, right? The new camper?" she asked softly.

She nodded. "I'm Anastasia," she murmured, her eyes reflecting the light of the flames. Normally that might be considered sort of creepy, but with her, it was almost welcoming.

he held out his hand offing a smile that didn't quite reach his eyes. "'lo. nice to meetcha," he said. he noticed her flickering eyes and figured that she was the daughter of hestia, goddess of the hearth. looks like school really did come in handy in real life. kinda. he really could've used some monster-killing lessons instead of math, as they'd been hunting him his whole life. only today did he realize what was really going on.

She scanned him briefly, trying to figure out who his godly parent might be, before looking down again. She had narrowed it down to a few possibilities, but she still wasn't sure who it was.

wel yeah, he had no blinking idea who his parent was, so obviously she wouldn't. he felt he didn't fit in here, it all seemed to surreal, and everyone had a routine. what if he wasn't really one of them? would they kick him out? what if he didn't get claimed? does that mean that they didn't like him or something? they meaning the gods, that is. though, with a twinge of annoyance, parents should care for all their kids. he just had to hope that his dad would do so soon.

Sarah approached, looked at the new girl, then smiled warmly. "Hello," she greeted. "I'm Sarah."

Cleo awkwardly watched the whole exchange that went down with Anastasia and Jared, trying to keep her eyes low. She wasn't exactly the best with new campers and such, her having been one once. It was an odd feeling, but there's always a first time for everything. She smiled at Sarah, glad that there was someone there she actually knew.

Sarah smiled back at Cleo and nodded her a greeting.
