"You made it past the camp border," Sarah explained. "There's a magical border surrounding the camp. Only demigods can go through, unless they have permission."

The girl nodded slowly. "How do we know who my dad is then?"

"We don't." Sarah admitted. "Campers are eventually claimed by their godly parent. So we will find out then, or possibly earlier, if you demonstrate some sort of power."

"So..." Sarah ventured, "do you know who your father is? Most people don't but some do."

"There are quite a lot of campers," Sarah said, "but some only come in the summer, and others stay year round." Sarah paused and then said, "Technically everybody here is related on the godly side, so we don't have the same DNA. Unless you have a sibling with the same mortal parent at camp, of course." As they approached the cabins, she said "you will stay in a cabin with your siblings, on the godly side, once we know who yourgodly parent is."

"When will I find out?"

"It depends," she said. "If you demonstrate any power, intentional or not, then we will know. Usually your parent will claim you. Most people are claimed at campfire. So possibly tonight. Maybe sooner. Maybe later."

She nodded gratefully at Sarah, eyes still wide and disbelieving. "Thanks."
