the young winter queen rode through the dark woods silently. the woman, girl really, attempted to calm herself as she rode in her carriage, which was pulled by light gray horses flecked with white. she adjusted the delicate crown on her black-haired head. the base was made of braided platinum adorned with sapphires surrounded lightly in silver. her pale face was covered in bits of frost, as was her gown.
a ways away, a man ran through the forest, flickering through his form as a rusty-haired human to a reddish furred wolf, green eyes staying the same. as a man, he held sharp knives of silver, and his claws were his weapons as a wolf.

The girl rode through the trees on her horse, as she made her way to attend the queen in her court. Her hair was loose but strands of pearls were woven in to her thick blonde hair that was cover by a hood, but usually fell halfway down her back. She had no noticeable powers, and the one shedid possess was both subtle and uncommon. Her proud, aqua eyes stayed focused on the path as she rode along.

The young girl, no older than 16, walked in, her deep burgundy cape twisting slightly at her ankles. Her hood hung over her head, throwing shadows over her face.

arriving at the large clearing, the queen waited tensely for more people to appear. her features hardened as a red-ish wolf bounded into the clearing and changed into a man with sharp knives.

Alicia's silvery horse carried her to where the queen waited. She dismounted and took her hood off, shaking her blonde hair loose. She bowed to the queen, pearls in her hair glittering in the light. She straightened and unclasped her cape, revealing a simple, deep blue dress that fell to the ground. She gave a small smile, though her eyes flitted between the queen and the wolf man.

The girl's hair was half up, half down, half curled, half not, half beautiful, half gorgeous. She had never really known how to do her own hair, but it usually ended up looking ok. She didn't have much to work with; she was small and slightly thin with no noticeable curves. Her hair was a plain brown, which matched her eyes to a tee. She didn't have long eyelashes, rosy cheeks, or full lips so yet more imperfections on her part. The girl might have appeared mysterious to anyone that didn't know her, which few people did. That was the reason why she had decided to come to this "ball" thing: she needed to meet new people. Her people were long gone and, well, she was lonely. So, she gathered the small amount of courage she ever had to begin with, sewed her own dress, did her own makeup, and went on her way. Alone. But she had done a fine job, considering her plain physique. Her maroon ball gown was stunning, an hourglass shape that showed off what little hips she had, with sparkles drifting down from the top of her dress to the middle. The back was criss-crossed and her feet were adorned with slippers, ballet slippers, some of the only shoes she had. She had been taught how to dance at a young age and was presented with how ever many ballet slippers she needed. She wore a cape covering her dress for now, and the hood was pulled back off of her head so she could see clearer in the dark sky. The girl heard noises nearby and knew she was getting closer. The trees tried to shield her but the moon frowned upon the darkness she held in her eyes.

That girl-she's wearing a crown, the girl thought to herself, as she approached the small group. She had never seen a queen, but based on the books she'd read, she decided that it would be best to bow. As she did so, the girl gave a small "Your lady." and stepped back into the shadow.

"Umm..." the girl said, just now realizing that that was the first thing she had said to a person in quite some time, "Umm, I'm from...around. I live a whiles away, into the forest. I don't know very many people." That was a lie. She didn't know any people.

the queen nodded wisely. it appeared this girl was not affiliated with any of her enemies. that was good. "i am queen alexandra. and you?"
the werewolf grinned as more of his wolves arrived. they all held the patchy coats of wolves in summertime, even though it was late fall.

The girl smiled at her. She seemed nice enough. "Uh, I'm...Jane. Just Jane." the girl said to the queen. Jane. She tried it out and ended up liking it. Alright, she said to herself. Jane it is.
