His Mother says: “Why did you fight with your friend?”
“Because he demanded something of me, and I would not give it to him.”
“Why did you not give it to him?”
“Because it was mine.”
“My son, you now have your possessions, but you do not have your friend. Which would you rather have?”
“My friend.”
“Then give freely, trusting that you will also be given what you need.”
Self-Sufficiency
Daughter says to her Father: “Father, today I fought with my friend.”
Her Father says: “Why did you fight with your friend?”
“Because she insulted me, and I was angry.”
“Why were you angry?”
“Because she lied about me."
“My daughter, did your friend’s words change who you are?”
“No.”
“Then do not be angry. The opinions of others cannot damage you.”
Forgiveness
A husband says to his wife: “Wife, today I fought with my enemy.”
“His Wife says: “Why did you fight with your enemy?”
“Because I hate him.”
“My husband, why do you hate him?”
“Because he wronged me.”
“The wrong is past. You must let it rest where it lies.”
Kindness
A Wife says to her Husband: “Husband, today I fought with my enemy.”
Her Husband says: “Why did you fight with your enemy?”
“Because I spoke cruel words to her.”
“My wife, why did you speak cruel words to her?”
“Because I believed them to be true.”
“Then you must no longer think cruel thoughts. Cruel thoughts lead to cruel words, and hurt you as much as they hurt your target."
Involvement
One friend says to Another: “Friend, today I fought with my enemy.”
The Other Friend says: “Why did you fight with your enemy?”
“Because they were about to hurt you.”
“Friend, why did you defend me?”
“Because I love you.”
“Then I am grateful.”
History
Amity's first leader, Genevieve Aspens.
Compound
Amity lives just outside the fence with a series of farms. They live near the orchards.
Initiation
Amity initiation consists of a series of different events. One is farming, where initiates are taught how best to farm the land, another is teamwork, where the group participates in a few activities such as reaching-your-hands-into-the-circle-grabbing-two-random-hands-and-trying-to-untangle-yourselves, trust falls, sitting-back-to-back-and-linking-arms-with-someone-then-trying-to-stand-up-without-using-your-hands, and a LOT of singing. (in the books, nothing is mentioned about amity initiation, so i made this all up. it is probably not accurate).
Traits
Amity are known for being peaceful. They reject fighting and are willing to lie to maintain the peace. If ever someone is too unhappy, or starts a fight, they will be given peace serum. Amity wear red, yellow, and brown, but orange is accepted, as are jeans. They are very natural and almost NEVER dye their hair or get piercings.
High Positions
Faction Representative- the most important rank. they represent the faction and are the most known person there. they are basically a leader, but more powerful 1/1

Leader- leads the faction. the most experienced leader is the most powerful 0/2
Faction Council- a group of trusted members. when a leader spot opens up, the new leader is typically chosen from here, but does not have to be 0/4
Semi High Positions
Instructor- trains amity initiates. one trains amity borns, the other trains transfers 0/2
Normal Positions
Member- those who have completed training and now work to help their faction- most amity members farm 0/unlimited
Amity-Born Initiates- those who were born in Amity and, at the choosing ceremony, chose amity. they are currently in training 0/unlimited
Transfer Initiates- those who were born in a faction other than Amity but, at the choosing ceremony, chose Amity. they are currently in training 0/unlimited
Children- those under the age of 16 who have not yet chosen 1/unlimited

Midnight Glow is played Alternate Universe where none of that ever happened.
Can I play an Amity Member?
Of course! You can create your own thread or jump into an existing one.
Can I play a High Position?
High Positions and Semi High Positions are chosen ICly (in characterly), so if you and your character are active, then you could be promoted!
Why aren't my characters in the member count?
In order to enter your characters into the member count, I need to know their full name, first and last, and their rank. If your character(s) are not entered, then please post their full name and rank below.
