Whitekit followed Lilywhispeer, smiling.

Lilywhisper continued to walk forward, feeling the kit's presence behind her. One VERY important kit. Why else would Starclan send her messages? She must be special, one of a kind. Unlike Lilywhisper. She was ordinary, just another cat. No one had ever really paid any attention to her in her life but now she had the opportunity to become something. Her mother had always known she would be a leader. That great things would happen to her because of the visions from Starclan, her being a medicine cat. She had a kit against the rules. No one knew though. No one ever found out because Lilywhisper's mother was killed by another clan, not even able to raise her child. Only then was Lilywhisper found, alone and cold. And they took her in but was never paid attention to. No one really loved her. Only now would she get the chance to prove herself. (a little background of our friend Lilywhisper )

(ooh nice) Whitekit followed the she-cat through the forest, stopping every so often to briefly sniff an herb and whisper its name and use to herself. Finally, they reached a smallish cave. Looking up at the dark sky, Whitekit mewed, "we should rest here for the night."

(why thank you ) Lilywhisper nodded. "Of course." she said, still thinking about the kit. She seemed to be very smart, the way that she knew pretty much every herb they seemed to stumble upon. But you had to be smart to be a medicine cat, and Whitekit seemed to be very much of that. Lilywhisper padded into the cave and sat for a minute, taking in her surroundings.

The young she-cat scented the air and froze. She had never been out of camp before, and she was still adjusting to her surroundings and their scents, but something about this particular scent seemed... off. She took another whiff and realized that whatever it was, it was stale. Must have left about- another sniff- a day or two ago.

The millisecond after Whitekit smelled it, Lilywhisper did too. It was easy enough to smell but not enough for it to have been close. But if Lilywhisper was smelling what she thought she was, one thing was certain-it was coming back. (wait, uh, hehe, maybe I don't exactly know what they are smelling...)

(you can make it up- she doesn't know) Noticing that Lilywhisper could smell it as well, she mewed, "is it safe?"

(k K ) Lilywhisper looked at Whitekit. "I don't know. Most likely not. It smells as if-" But at that moment, a shadow loomed from the cave entrance. It was big and it's mouth curved into a snarl. The fox looked at the two cat's and gave them a look of shear hatred.

Whitekit immediately let out a tiny yelp, instinctively leaping behind Lilywhisper. Then, after some thought, she emerged from her hiding spot and growled at the fox. But, being a tiny, fluffy kit, it was NOT very intimidating.

Lilywhisper looked at Whitekit in surprise at her braveness. She respected the kit but still knew it was her duty to protect her, being a warrior and soon to be leader. Lilywhisper began to slowly circle the fox, hissing to distract it and turn it away from the kit. The fox circled her too, it's back to Whitekit. Lilywhisper began to swipe, purposefully missing. She made eye contact with Whitekit, telling her, Attack when I say so.

Whitekit nodded, crouching as she prepared for Lilywhisper's signal.

She continued to back up, away from Whitekit, hissing and scratching at the fox. It kept following her, it's snarl growing wider and wider, and it's eyes only on her. Then Lilywhisper looked straight at Whitekit and nodded. Now was the best time.

The tiny she-cat jumped, soaring through the air and landing squarely on the fox's shoulders, just out of reach of its snapping jaws. "What now?" she mewed, starting to panic slightly. She had never been on top of an angry fox before.

Lilywhisper closed her eyes for one second, almost a blink but not. The world slowed. She didn't know what to do. There were many different options: scratch it from the back, just continue riding on it until being thrown off or admit defeat. None of those would prove helpful. And then an idea popped into her head. "Scratch at its ears and get it to raise it's head!" she screamed at Whitekit. Lilywhisper then crouched, ready to spring.

She unsheathed her short claws and batted viciously at its head, her claws raking it's ears and face. The fox yowled angrily and lifted its head as it tried to snap back at her.
