(thank you ) "Alright." Lilywhisper half whispered. She would go to bed soon too, but not before she saw the sunset. It had stopped raining and the whole forest seemed to have a certain shine and newness to it. The trees were coated with water which slowly dripped of the tender branches and onto the dew speckled floor. After the rain, there would come a rainbow, but there wasn't one now because the sun was already too deep into it's slumber to muster up the smallest shred of light for which a rainbow could appear. So, instead, Lilywhisper watched the way the colors were molded and shaped and blended together to form the most beautiful sunset she'd ever seen. The way the gold faded into yellow, which faded to orange, and then to red, which then came purple and then finally, the smallest speck of blue which would soon take over the sun and the sky and blossom with new stars. As she watched all of this happen, she never noticed the yawns that had started from the beginning and became bigger and bigger. When finally the last star that could fill the sky without it bursting into stardust, Lilywhisper closed her eyes and was immediately transported into a deep sleep that she hoped would take her soon to the day where she could then reach the stars. (i'm sorry that i am not humble but I've got to say: I like this post)

(nice post- OBOB winner ) The next morning, Whitekit awoke to the sweet chimes of birdsong. She smiled and looked over to Lilywhisper. It was late dawn; though it was still rather early, they wanted to make it to the Moonpool sooner rather than later. "Lilywhisper," she whispered, wanting to wake the she-cat in the least alarming way possible. (two things: one, i just realized that they would have to have been pretty slow to take more than a day to get there cx whoops and two, goldy, your post inspired me to do something magical)

She nodded, padding out of the cave. She grabbed a few herbs she had stored in a hole in a nearby tree. "Eat these," she said, placing them in front of Lilywhisper. "They will give you more strength and weaken your hunger slightly."

Lilywhisper immediately took the herbs this time instead of waiting. If something were to help her be less hungry, then she would take it no matter what it is.

Lilywhisper managed a meek smile. "As ready as I'll ever be." she said, as she took the first steps towards the opening of the cave.

Whitekit was panting slightly as they finally reached the clearing containing the moonpool. "This is it," she whispered in awe.

Lilywhisper looked up at the cavernous walls. Wow. It truly was what everybody said it was. Breathtaking. She took a very deep breath and then exhaled. "Well." she mewed. But Lilywhisper couldn't say anything else. Well appeared to be the word that summed everything up.

(sorry- i accidentally wrote cave when i meant clearing (not sure why i did that) edited now)
Whitekit was suddenly very nervous. "So," she whispered, shaking slightly, "you just have to touch the water and you fall asleep." After a moment she added under her breath, "or so they say." Still trembling, she moved closer to the water, looking back to make sure that Lilywhisper was coming as well.

Lilywhisper followed, also shaking. As she reached the water, she could barely make out her small reflection in the dark (dark right?) but what she saw was a cat that was scared. Her eyes showed her fear and so did her face. Lilywhisper's whole body projected uneasiness. But she saw something else deep inside: readiness. "So," she said, "should I.....you know...touch it? Now?"

(yes dark- it's just about midnight) Whitekit nodded. "Whenever you're ready," she whispered, laying down in a comfortable position next to the water.

Lilywhisper sighed. She could wait. She could never actually touch it. She could run from the pool, never actually knowing what happens. But no. Lilywhisper had a duty to do. And she was just too curious. She felt her paw move before she knew what she was doing. It was reflected onto the water, the moon in the background, hiding behind her ear so it looked as if her whole face was glowing. The paw reached towards the water and touched it but then immediately was out. It was cold. But that was all it needed. Lilywhisper's world went white.
